Jayhawks Battle The Kats Tough On The Road

WILLIAMSVILLE - In their road doubleheader against Erie Community College, the Jamestown Community College baseball team dropped a pair of closely contested contests. 

 

The Jayhawks (11-25, 9-15) were downed by a score of 7-0 in game on and 3-1 in game two.

 

Game 1: Erie Community College 7 - Jamestown Community College 0

JCC was only able to find two hits in the first outing with shortstop Nate Johnson (Jamestown, NY/Southwestern High) and centerfielder Timothy Johnson (San Tan Valley, AZ/Comb HS) each coming away with one.

 

The Kats were able to get two runs in the first then added four more runs in the fourth inning to create separation.

 

Alex Kemery (Youngsville, PA/Youngsville HS) earned the loss on the mound, going four innings with surrendering five earned runs and nine hits. Eddie Bartoli (Yorktown Heights, NY/Yorktown HS) went two innings with giving up one earned run on two hits.

 

Game Two: Erie Community College 3 - Jamestown Community College 1

In the backend of the doubleheader, pitcher De'Sean Rogers (Winter Haven, FL/Winter Haven HS) and T. Johnson led the way, each getting two hits with T. Johnson getting a triple.

 

The Jayhawks got on the board first as Rogers drove in first baseman Kenny Nickson III (Erie, PA/Erie HS) on a single in the fourth inning.

 

The Kats scored their three runs in the sixth to take the lead.

 

Rogers went the distance on the mound, surrendering three earned runs on six hits.

 

JCC will be back in action as they host ECC tomorrow starting at 1 p.m.
