Looking to carry their momentum into the backend of the doubleheader, they did just that with Hennessy leading the way with three hits and a double while T. Johnson hit two doubles while driving in three runs.

After a pair of scoreless innings, the Red Barons struck first, scoring a run in the top of the third inning. The Jayhawks responded as Nickson III hit a one-run single to bring home N. Johnson. JCC added two more runs in the bottom of the fourth to take a 3-1 lead. Rogers drove home third baseman Lucas Marsh (Salamanca, NY/Ellicottville HS) on a single with N. Johnson knocking in Hoag on a single as well.

In the fifth, Corning tied the game at 3-3. The tie woke the Jayhawks up as the floodgates opened, scoring 10 runs to win the game. After scoring three runs early in the inning, T. Johnson came to the plate with  the bases loaded. T. Johnson connected on a ball into deep right centerfield that brought in left fielder Chris Navarro (Jamestown, NY/Jamestown HS), Rogers, and N. Johnson to make it 10-3.

After a base knock from Hennessy to bring in T. Johnson, Piazza hit a two-run double to bring in Hennessy and pinch hitter Potter to salt the game away.

Beimel went the distance on the mound, giving up no earned runs while fanning four hits and striking out three batters.

The Jayhawks will have a quick turnaround as they travel to Corning Community College tomorrow, April 16th, for a 10 a.m. first pitch.
