Jayhawks lose hard fought battle

The JCC Jayhawks Men's Soccer Team (1-4-1) hosted the Lazers of Onondaga Community College (3-2).  The Lazers got on the board first on a seemingly controversial play with both coaching staff's trying to sort out the situation with the officials for several minutes.  The Jayhawks goalie #8 Jordan Lymbaris (Australia) had received a yellow card on pervious play that was to result in a penalty kick for the Lazers.  The Lazers coaching staff reminded officials that Lymbaris, who had committed the foul and received the yellow card, had to come out of the game.  This had the Jayhawks put in goaltender #1 Adriano DeRossi (Australia) who had little time to get prepared for the penalty kick and speed of the action.  The result was as the Jayhawks feared as the Lazers scored on the penalty kick to take a 1-0 lead.  The Lazers scored again before the end of the half to take a 2-0 lead.

The second half saw more rough play as officials were kept busy all day with both teams demanding justice, a combined 26 fouls, 4 yellow cards, and 1 red card.  However, both teams continued to try and score and the Jayhawks were able to get on the board with a goal from #10 Raymond Amborski (Westfield) to close the gap 2-1.  A last second shot by the Jayhawks went high as the Lazers held on to down the Jayhawks 2-1.  The Jayhawks defense was led by goalie #8 Jordan Lymberis who had 7 saves while facing 8 shots on goal.
