Men's Baseball vs Niagara County CC (Double Header)

The JCC Jayhawks men's baseball team (NJCAA Div II, 1-14) went on the road to face the team they played less than 24 hours before, the Thunderwolves of Niagara County Community College (NJCAA Div II, 18-4).  Things got off to a rocky start in the 1st inning with the Thunderwolves taking a 4-0 lead and things went from bad to worse in the second inning as the Thunderwolves scored 6 more runs to give them a 10-0 lead.  In the 4th inning, the Jayhawks scored to make the score 10-1 but the Thunderwolves made them pay for that dearly, scoring 8 runs in the bottom of the inning and went on to defeat the Jayhawks in 5 innings by the score of 22-1.  The Jayhawks offense was led by #2 Cam Haberberger (Jamestown) who had 1 hit (a double) 1 RBI; #5 Kyle Mayer (Mayville) and #4 Justin Forster (East Otto) had 1 hit each; and #23 Andrew Latona (Jamestown) scored 1 run.  #14 Josh Jones (Cuba) (0-2) took the loss for the Jayhawks facing 12 batters, allowing 4 hits and 6 earned runs.  #3 John White (Warren), #24 Noah Whalen (Buffalo), and #11 Bryce Sherrard (Youngsville) also saw action on the mound. 

Things did not go better for the Jayhawks in Game 2 as the Thunderwolves had a commanding 20-0 lead after 3 innings.  The Thunderwolves pitching was so in tune they only allowed 1 hit which was registered by #4 Justin Forster (East Otto).  The Thunderwolves went on to win 21-0 in 5 innings.  #20 Austin Mitchell (Randolph) (0-1) took the loss facing 9 batters, giving up 2 hits and 7 earned runs, while striking out 1 batter.  #22 Brandon Pistner (Amherst), #23 Andrew Latona (Jamestown), and #11 Bryce Sherrard (Youngsville) also saw pitching action.
