CANANDAIGUA - The Jamestown Community College competed at the NJCAA Region III Cross Country Championship hosted by Finger Lakes Community College on Saturday afternoon.

"I'm really proud of how both of our teams finished today," said head coach Sydney Beeman. "They went out there and did their best."

Emma Redlecki (Clymer, NY/Clymer Central) led the way for the women's cross country team, finishing fifth out of 11 runners. Redlecki shaved seven seconds off her time from last weekend, racing a 5K with a time of 27:45.3.

Jackson Vanstrom (Jamestown, NY/Southwestern) led the way for the men's cross country team, placing 18th out of 35 runners. Vanstrom, who ran an 8K, finished with a time of 33:06.4.

"These two runners worked extremely hard and kept a positive attitude all season," Beeman added. "I was fortunate enough to have two great athletes on my team for my first year. I'm very excited to have them back next year and see what they can accomplish with a bigger team and competition by their side."

The Jayhawks will wait to see if they will be invited for the 2020 NJCAA Division III Cross Country Championships hosted by Iowa Central Community College.
