JAMESTOWN – In a non-regional match Thursday evening, the Jamestown Community College volleyball team fell to visiting Lakeland Community College in three sets.
The Jayhawks (11-8) posted set scores of 23-25, 14-25, 18-25. To lead the offense, outside hitter Emma McCarthy (Olean, NY/Allegany-Limestone Central) had a team-high eight kills with right side Claire Pumford (Jamestown, NY/Jamestown HS) and outside hitter Mikala Einink (Clymer, NY/Clymer Central) each chipped in with seven kills each. Setter Madison Johnson (Panama, NY/Panama Central) had another solid night facilitating the offense, coming away with 28 assists.
On the defensive end, libero Sydney Ulasewicz (Allegany, NY/Allegany-Limestone Central) and Johnson had eight digs each.
The Jayhawks will take a brief hiatus as they are back in action next Thursday, October 13th, as they travel to Monroe Community College for a 6 p.m. start.
