Jayhawks defeat ECC on the road in the regular season finale

BUFFALO, N.Y. – No. 8 Jamestown Community College volleyball team ended their regular season with a 3-1 win over Erie Community College Tuesday evening.

 

The Jayhawks (23-4, 5-0 WNYAC) posted set scores of 25-15, 26-24, 22-25 and 25-8. The offense was led by Jenna Caskey with 13 kills and Emma Pumford with 11. Alexys Marsh added eight kills, respectively. The offense was ran through Maddy Russo who had 32 assists on the night.

 

The defense showed up big, especially in the fourth set to ground the Kats. JCC had 10 solo blocks on the night with Marsh having five of them. Gominiak had a stellar night at the net, coming away with five total blocks (three solo, two assists). Caskey added four total blocks (two solo, two assists) to cap off her night.

 

The JCC backcourt was able to keep up with a physical ECC offense, coming away with 72 digs. Caskey led the way with 23 digs with Cameryn Hawkins adding 16 digs.

 

The Jayhawks will travel to Mercyurst North East for the WNYAC Tournament on Saturday, October 26. JCC will begin the day squaring off against ECC at 11 a.m. with a match against Genesee Community College to follow.
