Jayhawks come back to win in epic fashion

The JCC Jayhawks Women's Volleyball Team (19-5) went on the road to face the Tribunes of Monroe Community College (11-8).  The matches between JCC and MCC over the years have often been closely contested, and usually result in one of the two representing the region in the playoffs.  This matchup did not disappoint.  The first set was closely contested with the Jayhawks taking a narrow victory 27-25.  The second set appeared to show the Tribunes that this was going to be the Jayhawks day as the Jayhawks dominated 25-12.  With only one set to go, the Jayhawks appeared to have their 11th win in a row in hand, but the Tribunes were not ready to give up the fight and turned the tables on the Jayhawks with a 25-19 win.  With momentum on their side, the Tribunes soundly beat the Jayhawks 25-15.  With the final set, and momentum seemingly secure at their side, it appeared the Tribunes would be the victor but the Jayhawks were far from defeated, and defeated the Tribunes 15-9 to win the match 3-2.  The Jayhawks were led by #9 SallyAnne Rudny (Jamestown) who had 19 kills, 3 aces, 3 blocks, and 12 digs;  #10 Madison Alexander (Jamestown) had 9 kills and 9 digs; #2 Destiney Portlow (Olean) had 6 kills; #7 Miranda Gross (Little Valley) had 34 assists and 12 digs; #4 Ashley Butman (Jamestown) had 19 digs; #3 Kaitlyn Hoth (Cherry Creek) had 10 digs; and #8 Erin Butman (Jamestown) had 3 kills.
