Jayhawks impressive win streak continues

The JCC Jayhawks Women's Volleyball Team (15-5) hosted the Kats of Erie Community College (10-5).  The Jayhawks come into the contest with an impressive 11 out of their last 12 contests and all the wins were 3-0 sweeps.  The first set had the Jayhawks in command, and seemed to set the tone for an easy outing as they defeated the Kats 25-15.  However, the Kats were not going anywhere and began to claw their way back in the second set.  The Kats took the lead over the Jayhawks midway through the set but the Jayhawks did not waiver and pulled through to win the set 25-20.  The third set had the Kats continuing to scrap with the Jayhawks often matching the Jayhawks point for point and tying the game multiple times.  But once the Jayhawks get on a roll, they are tough to beat, and they pulled away from the Kats to win the set 25-19 which allowed them another sweeping victory as they won the match over the Kats 3-0.  The Jayhawks win streak is now at 8.  The Jayhawks were led by #9 SallyAnne Rudny (Jamestown) who had 23 kills, 3 aces, and 8 digs; #2 Destiney Portlow (Olean) had 5 kills and 4 digs; #7 Miranda Gross (Little Valley) had 32 assists; #4 Ashley Butman (Jamestown) had 16 digs; #10 Madison Alexander (Jamestown) had 4 kills and 8 digs; and #8 Erin Butman (Jamestown) had 3 kills.
