Jayhawks hold off Cougars

The JCC Jayhawks Women's Volleyball team (7-4) went on the road to face the Cougars of Genesee County Community College (2-3).  The first set was close but the Jayhawks won soundly 25-15.  The second set saw the Cougars gaining momentum but the Jayhawks still prevailed 25-18.  The third set saw the Cougars with their backs against the wall, give the Jayhawks all they could handle but the Jayhawks kept their poise and won the set 25-22 to win the match over the Cougars 3-0.  The Jayhawks offense was led by #10 Madison Alexander (Jamestown) who had 19 kills and 11 digs; #9 SallyAnne Rudny (Jamestown) had 18 kills and 9 digs; #9 SallyAnne Rudny (Jamestown) had 42 assists and 5 digs; #4 Ashley Butman (Jamestown) had 17 digs; #8 Erin Butman (Jamestown) had 4 kills; and #2 Destiney Portlow (Olean) had 3 blocks.
