The Jayhawks traveled to Monroe Community College to take part in the Monroe CC Invitational. The Jayhawks held strong and kept up the pace as they won 27-25 in the second match. The third match again saw both teams playing strong as the Tribunes took the third match 26-24 puttting JCC's backs to the wall. The Jayhawks (1-1) second opponent was the Red Barons of Corning Community College (1-1). The Jayhawks looked to keep the momentum going but the Red Barons proved to be a difficult opponent. The Jayhawks won the first match 26-24 in a close contest. The Red Barons then went toe to toe with the Jayhawks, and won the second match 29-27. This seemed to be a breaking point for the Jayhawks who lost the third match 25-19 and played a close game in the forth match, losing 25-23 as the Red Barons took the victory 3-1. The Spartans momentum continued as they defeated the Jayhawks 25-11, 25-16, and 25-16.
