III, 17-7) traveled to Jefferson for tournament play and faced off against the Cannoneers of Jefferson Community College (NJCAA Div. III, 18-12). The Jayhawks and Cannoneers had a close first set with the Jayhawks winning by 2. The Cannoneers responded by downing the Jayhawks in the next two sets. With the game on the line, the Jayhawks rallied and won the fourth set. With a 2-2 tie, the Jayhawks won the fifth set to down the Cannoneers 3-2 (29-27, 22-25, 21-25, 25-20, 15-11).
