The Jamestown Community College Jayhawks women's volleyball team (NJCAA Div. III, 21-8) went to Mercyhurst University (NE) for the Regionals and faced off first against the Thunderwolves of Niagara County Community College (NJCAA Div. III, 16-10). The Jayhawks won the first set 25-22. The Thunderwolves stormed back and took the second set 25-17. In the third set, the Jayhawks held off the Thunderwolves 25-21 to ensure a 2-1 victory. The Jayhawks were led by #5 Shannon Gunnell's (Falconer) 16 kills and 5 digs; #2 Kayleane Chase's (Randolph) 8 kills and 2 blocks; #1Mandy Finch's (Randolph) 4 kills and 9 digs; #7 Kaitlyn Nye's (Cattaraugus) 17 assists and 13 digs; and 7 digs each by #3Carly Abbate (Ashville) and #6 Alexis Terrette (Randolph).
