The Jamestown Community College Jayhawks women's volleyball team (NJCAA Div. III, 19-8) went to Mercyhurst University (NE) for the WNYAC Tournament and faced off first against the Cougars of Genesee Community College (NJCAA Div. II, 23-17). The Jayhawks jumped out to an early lead, winning the first set 25-22. However, the Cougars won the second set 25-20 and the final set 15-7 to down the Jayhawks 2-1. The Jayhawks were led by #5 Shannon Gunnell's (Falconer) 12 kills and 7 digs; #1 Mandy Finch's (Randolph) 6 kills and 15 digs; #3 Carly Abbate's (Ashville) 12 digs and 3 assists; #7 Kaitlyn Nye's (Cattaraugus) 22 assists and 8 digs; #2 Kayleane Chase's (Randolph) 3 kills; #6 Alexis Terrette's (Randolph) 8 digs; and #8 Kaylee Luce's (Kennedy) 6 digs.
