The Jamestown Community College Jayhawks women's volleyball team (NJCAA Div. III, 6-4) went on the road to face the Cougars of Genesee Community College (NJCAA DIv. II, 6-11). The Jayhawks played the Raiders close and started out hot, winning the first set (25-23) and then dominating the second set (25-17). However, the Raiders rallied, winning the third set (25-20) and, keeping the momentum on their side, won the fourth set (26-24). With the rally in full swing, the Raiders took the fifth and final set (15-7), defeating the Jayhawks 3-2. The Jayhawks were led by #5 Shannon Gunnell's (Falconer) 18 kills and 14 digs, #2 Kayleane Chase's (Randolph) 11 kills and 6 blocks, #1 Mandy Finch's (Randolph) 24 digs, 6 kills, and 2 aces, #7 Kaitlyn Nye's (Cattaraugus) 31 assists and 9 digs, #3 Carly Abbate's (Ashville) 16 digs, and #12 Cierra Farmer's (Randolph) 2 kills and 2 blocks.
