ROCHESTER – The Jamestown Community College women's swimming & diving team begins their postseason journey this evening, competing at the 2023 NJCAA Region 3 Swimming & Diving Championships hosted by Monroe Community College.
The Jayhawks started the weekend strong as Lindsey Spitz (Jamestown, NY/Jamestown HS) finished first in the 50 yard breaststroke with a time of 34.21. Kylee Hennessy (Warren, PA/Warren Area HS) also had a strong start, finishing third in the event with a time of 40.65.
To continue the momentum, Spitz finished second in the 200 yard IM with a time of 2:31.90, dropping 11 seconds off her personal best. Stacey Blackler (Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa/Edenvale HS) came in third in the event, finishing with a time of 2:39.53. Hannah Eckert (Frewsburg, NY/Frewsburg HS) was atop of her first event on the night, placing second in the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 28.40.
JCC will be back in action tomorrow, February 11th, for session two at 10 a.m. and session two at 5 p.m.
