Harrington Resigns as Head Coach of the JCC Women's Soccer Team

JAMESTOWN – On Tuesday afternoon, women’s soccer head coach Tom Harrington resigned, effective immediately.

Harrington’s resignation comes after his family had another job opportunity presented to them, moving them out of the area and making it difficult to continue to coach the team.

“We want to thank Coach Harrington for taking on the challenge of resurrecting our women’s soccer program,” said Athletic Director George Sisson. “Without his commitment, it could not have gotten done.”

Harrington was hired as the head coach in the spring of 2019 to head the comeback of the Jamestown Community College women’s soccer team who had a brief hiatus during the 2018-19 academic school year.

During his time as head coach, Harrington coached two All-WNYAC Team selections in Sutton Dalrymple ’20 and Hannah Sholl.

Not only did Harrington expect the best from his players on the field of competition, but he also expected the same in the classroom. Seven of his players were named WNYAC Academic All-Conference while four players earned Region III Academic All-Region honors.

“The JCC Athletic Department wishes Tom and his family the best of luck in their move and new opportunities,” added Sisson.

The JCC Athletic Department is working on filling the position in a timely manner to get ready for the championship season in the spring of 2021.
