Jayhawks offense struggles against Genesee

The JCC Jayhawks Women's Soccer team (3-9) hosted the Cougars of Genesee Community College (9-2).  The Hornets had won 8 out of their last 9 games this season and the Jayhawks looked to recover from a high scoring loss in their previous game.  The Jayhawks failed to mount a strong offense but held the Cougars out of the goal until the 16:57 mark when the Cougars took the lead 1-0.  With the game still close, the teams looked to be headed to the half with one goal separating them but then with 6 seconds left in the half, the Cougars scored again to take a 2-0 lead and the momentum into halftime.  The second half continued to see the Jayhawks struggle as the Cougars had 15 shots on goal  for the game compared to the Jayhawks 4.  The Jayhawks defense prevented any further scoring but the two first half goals were still there to give the Cougars the 2-0 victory over the Jayhawks.  The Jayhawks offense was led by #4 Madison McLachlan (Australia) who had 2 shots on goal.  The Jayhawks defense was led by #0 Rebecca Butcher (South Dayton) who had 13 saves while facing 15 shots on goal.
