The JCC Jayhawks women's soccer team (NJCAA Div III, 2-5) went on the road to face the Spartans of Cayuga Community College. The first half saw the Jayhawks score a goal by #4 Kenya Stanton (Portland) that was assisted by #11 Abbie Bradshaw (Australia) that led to a 1-0 lead at the end of the first half. What appeared to be a defensive battle quickly turned into a mismatch as #12 Noni Wheeler (Australia) scored a goal assisted by #11 Abbie Bradshaw. The scoring continued as #10 Wendy Lopez scored on a goal assisted by #8 Rebecca Golley (Ellicotville). With the momentum on the Jayhawks side, the assault on the goal continued with a goal from #4 Kenya Stanton scoring her second goal assisted by #6 Rebecca Valiente (Campbelltown) followed by #10 Wendy Lopez scoring her second goal as well, assisted by #4 Kenya Stanton. The 5 goals was more than the Spartans could handle as the Jayhawks downed them 5-1. The Jayhawks defense was led by goalie #9 Kashauna Learn who had 4 saves while facing 5 shots.
