Jayhawks look to keep momentum at Thiel

JAMESTOWN - The Jamestown Community College wrestling squad will be back in action tonight as they travel to Thiel College.

The Jayhawks (1-0) have started the season off strong, picking up a win over NCAA DIII opponent Pitt-Bradford last week, 33-25. Dan Torres (174) has had a strong start to the year individually, going 8-1 on the year so far. Torres placed first at the Brock port Open and second at the Washington & Jefferson Invitational.

JCC have also seen bright spots in Joey Perry (141) and Max Wills (hwt.). Perry placed third at the Brockport Open while Wills placed fourth at the Brockport Open. The Jayhawks have another option at heavyweight in Jacob Smith. Smith placed sixth at the Washington & Jefferson Invitational.

Theil has had a quite season so far, only competing in the Washington & Jefferson Invitational. The Tomcats placed 10th as a team. Thiel had one wrestler place in Austin Bonacci (157), placing second.

The teams will square-off at 8 p.m. at the Beeghly Gymnasium.
