Jayhawks travel to Alfred State for regular season finale

JAMESTOWN – The No. 12 Jamestown Community College wrestling team will complete their regular season tomorrow evening at the Alfred State Duals.

The Jayhawks (4-9) have been in a brief hiatus with their last competition coming on January 26th at the JCC Open. During the open, Dan Torres (174) finished in first place in his respective weight class. On his way to a first place finish, Torres defeated competition form NCAA Division I, II and III schools. Torres also picked up one fall on the day.

Colten Studley (149) and Seth MacTavish (157) will look to rebound as they picked up one win on the afternoon.

Jamestown will face an Alfred State team that have posted a dual record of 4-6-1 on the season. The Pioneers have lost their last three duals and will look to get back in the win column on Friday evening.

In Alfred State’s last time out, they competed at the John Summa Invitational host by Baldwin Wallace University. The team finished eighth and had two wrestlers place individually, respectively. Owen Kissell placed fifth in the 141 pound weight class while Anthony Miraglia placed sixth in the 149 pound weight class.

Action will start tomorrow evening at 7 p.m. inside the Orvis Gymnasium on the campus of Alfred State.
