Jayhawks look to build mid-season momentum starting this weekend

JAMESTOWN - The Jamestown Community College wrestling team will head to the campus of Niagara County Community College for a weekend filled with wrestling, starting tonight.

The Jayhawks (1-4) will go head-to-head with Muskegon Community College in a dual tonight before they compete in the Thunderwolves Open tomorrow morning.

Jamestown is on the heels of a 34=14 defeat from NCAA DII Gannon University on Wednesday evening. On the night, JCC picked up three victories with Dan Torres (174) highlighting the night. Torres squared-off against Owen Balas, picking up a 22-6 tech. fall.

Earlier in the night, the Jayhawks got their first victory as Otto Davidson (141) was rewarded with a forfeit victory. Joey Perry (157) got Jamestown's other victory. Perry faced Brandon Felkins, picking up an 8-4 decision win. The two were evenly matched at the beginning be Perry wore down Felkins.

Action starts tonight at 7 p.m. and with the Thunderwolves Open beginning tomorrow morning at 9:30 a.m.
