NORTH EAST, Pa. – In their regional match against Mercyhurst North East, the No. 13 Jamestown Community College fell by the score of 44-12.
The Jayhawks (2-8) got two wins on the night with Seth MacTavish (174) and Dan Torres (184) came away with the victories.
MacTavish was bumped up a weight class as he received a forfeit win over the Saints. Torres also bumped up in weight class, who is ranked No. 1 in the 174-pound class in the country. Torres faced a Draven Douglas for Mercyhurst North East, as neither grappler was able to gain an edge for a majority of the match. Torres continued to work down Douglas, coming away with a fall in the third period.
Joey Perry (149) kept his match competitive, trailing Hunter Derry by a score of 7-5. Derry was able to make his move, picking up the fall over Perry.
The Jayhawks will regroup and head to SUNY Ulster this Sunday for the Ulster Quad.
