ITHACA – The Jamestown Community College wrestling team suffered two losses on the road this afternoon at the Ithaca Duals.
The Jayhawks (2-6) face two NCAA Division III teams in No. 12 Ithaca College and Oswego State. In their first dual of the day, JCC faced Ithaca in a 47-0 defeat. In their second dual of the afternoon, Jamestown was bested by Oswego State, 44-9.
JCC got their first win on the day as Colten Studley (141) defeated Kian Pacheo in a 1-0 decision. The two in the first period couldn't find an advantage on one another, drawing to 0-0 heading into the second period. Studley started the second period on top, riding Pacheo out for the entire period. IN the third period, Studley was the one on bottom, working his way to an escape point that was the deciding factor.
Max Wills (HWT.) picked up the other win on the day for the Jayhawks in a win over Chris Serafini in 2:57. IN the early going of the period, each wrestler took multiple shots but came up empty on each attempt. With Wills wearing down Serafini, he took his shot which was the difference maker. Once on top, Wills worked to pick up the fall before time expired in the first period.
The Jayhawks will be back in action this Wednesday as they take on No. 9 Niagara County Community College at 7 p.m.
