Jayhawks show their dominance against Muskegon Community College

SANBORN – After falling behind early in the dual, the Jamestown Community College wrestling team was able to get a 29-21 win over Muskegon Community College Friday night at the Niagara County Community College Duals.

 

The Jayhawks (2-4) were down out the gate, 12-0, after having to forfeit the first two matches of the night. From that point, Jamestown had to claw their way back in order to pull out a win. Colten Studley (141) got the ball rolling for JCC, defeating Issac Trout in a close 9-7 decision win. Taige Jones (149) kept the momentum going, picking up the fall against Parker Dalson in 6:35, making the score 12-9 in favor of Muskegon.

 

JCC drew even with Muskegon at the halfway point as Joey Perry (157) got a 9-6 decision victory over Trent Myre. Jamestown took over the lead with Seth MacTavish (165) getting a medical forfeit win against Trevor Madison, giving JCC a 18-12.

 

Dan Torres (174) continues to have a dominant season, picking up yet again another tech. fall, this time defeating Colby Delberry by a 17-2 win. JCC got another quick six points with Jesse Storch (184) getting a win via forfeit, making it 29-12 in favor of the Jayhawks.

 

Muskegon closed out the night, winning the last two matches. Muskegon won the 197-pound match by forfeit and Alex Trim edged out Max Wills (hwt.), 6-5.

 

The Jayhawks will have a quick turnaround as they will compete in the Thunderwolves Open at NCCC starting at 9:30 a.m.
