CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Jamestown Community College wrestling team cracks the national rankings, coming in tied at No. 19.

The Jayhawks (2-4) started the season with a tough schedule, facing four schools that are a part of the NCAA, falling in three of the matches. JCC started the year off with a win over NCAA DIII Pitt-Bradford and picked up their other win this past weekend against Muskegon Community College.

Jamestown has fared well for themselves individually, pacing seven wrestlers at three different tournaments. Dan Torres (Cassadaga, NY/Cassadaga Valley HS) highlights the group, placing at the Washington and Jefferson Invitational, New York State Championships and at the Thunderwolves Open, all while competing in the 174 pound weight class.

Jacob Smith (Virginia Beach, VA/Hickory HS) placed sixth at the Washington and Jefferson Invitation in the heavyweight class while Taige Jones (Bemus Point, NY/Maple Grove) took first in the 141 pound weight class at the Thunderwolves Open while Colten Studley (Bolivar, NY/Bolivar-Richburg Central) and Otto Davidson (Congers, NY/Clarkstown North) placed third and fifth, respectively.

The team will next be in action this Saturday as they take on Ithaca College and Oswego State at the Ithaca Duals starting at 12 p.m.
