Jayhawks to face Mercyhurst North East Wednesday evening

JAMESTOWN – This Wednesday, the Jamestown Community College women’s basketball team will look to get back on track as they host Mercyhurst North East in region action.

 

The Jayhawks (8-9, 1-1 WNYAC) after coming off a tough loss against No. 14 Niagara County Community College this past Saturday, falling 84-43. During the game, Kayla Hohl was a bright spot for Jamestown, scoring nine points and grabbing five rebounds. Linnea Jimerson also should great effort on the glass, gathering eight rebounds.

 

On the year, JCC has averaged 65.4 points per game with Gabby Iuculano leading the way with 14.7 points per contest. Marisa Schuppenhauer is second on the team with 8.7 points per game. On the glass, the Jayhawks are grabbing 40.6 rebounds per game with Jimerson grabbing 6.9 boards per contest. Courtney Hemminger and Jesse Zenns are second on the team, grabbing five rebounds apiece.

 

JCC will face a hungry Saints team who are 4-14 thus far on the season. Losers of their last six game, Mercyhurst North East is coming off an 82-62 loss against Genesee Community College. In the contest, Essence Sims had 18 points with Jayla Atkins adding 15 points. Cerenity Chambers was one rebound shy of a double-double, finishing with 13 points and nine rebounds.

 

On the year, Mercyhurst North East is scoring 57.1 points per game with Sims leading the way with 17.1 points per contest. Chambers has been a force on the glass, grabbing 9.6 boards per game as the team averages 43.9 rebounds per contest.
