Jayhawks eye Lorain County on Wednesday evening

JAMESTOWN - After a hard fought battle against Villa Maria College Monday night, the Jamestown Community College women's basketball team will look to get back in the win column Wednesday evening.

The Jayhawks (4-7) will look to sweep the season series against Lorain County Community College, a team they defeated 96-54 just over two weeks ago. In the game, Marisa Schuppenhauer was all over the court, scoring 13 points, dishing out eight assists and caused seven turnovers. Gabby Iuculano led the team with 21 points while Katelyn Fardink added 18 points off the bench. Courtney Hemminger had a team-high seven rebounds (2 offense, 5 defnese).

For the Commodores, Ashley Elliot finished with a double-double, scoring 20 points and grabbed 14 rebounds (5 offense, 9 defense), respectively.

Jamestown is coming off a tough 68-60 loss to Villa Maria Monday night. Gabby Iuculano led the Jayhawks with 15 points while Linnea Jimerson had 13 points and seven rebounds (2 offense, 5 defense) Marisa Schuppenhauer led the team in rebounds with eight while Jesse Zenns protected the paint, collecting a career-high six blocks.

For Lorain County, they have lost their last three games since the two teams have met with their most recent loss coming against Terra State. The Commodores fell to Terra State by a score of 99-44. Vanecia Billings and Brandyce Smith led the way with 12 points each while Billings grabbed 11 rebounds.

Game time is set for 5 p.m.
