Jayhawks season comes to and end in the Region III Semifinals

SANBORN - With the season on the line, the No. 4 Jamestown Community College fell to No. 1 Niagara County Community College, 116-48 in the Region III Division II Semifinals game.

 

The Jayhawks (10-16) were led offensively by Gabby Iuculano with 12 points with Marisa Schuppenhauer and Abi Lisciandro adding eight points each. On the glass, Schuppenhauer collected nine rebounds (4 offense, 5 defense). Linnea Jimerson finished with five rebounds (1 offense, 4 defense) on the afternoon. JCC emphasized the extra pass, having four players finish with three assists.

 

 The Thunderwolves had four players finish in double figures in scoring as Aubrey Halloran had 31 points. Nickelle O'Neil had an all-around game, finishing with 25 points, six steals, six assists and five rebounds.

 

On the afternoon, the Jayhawks went 17-for-57 (29.8 percent) from the field and went 10-for-12 (83.3 percent) from the free throw line. NCCC went 47-for-88 (53.4 percent) from the floor and 11-for-15 (73.3 percent) from the charity stripe.

 

NCCC held the advantage on the glass, grabbing 46 rebounds to the Jayhawks' 34 rebounds. The Thunderwolves also utilized the extra pass, finishing with 32 assists to Jamestown's 14 assists.

 

The Jayhawks will look to bring in some new faces for the 2020-21 season with Izzy Bursch, Kayla Hohl, Linnea Jimerson, Abi Liscinadro and Jesse Zenns all departing from this season's team.
