The JCC Jayhawks women's basketball team (4-7) hosted the Lakers of Butler College (11-1) in the final home game of the semester.  With 4 minutes gone in the first period, the Jayhawks were only down 10-6.  But the Lakers went on a run and with less than 2 minutes remaining the Lakers held a 22-10 lead and would lead at the end of the first period 24-12.  The second period saw the Jayhawks scrap their way back into the game and after a 3 pointer by  #34 Kaleigh Brunswick (South Dayton) the Jayhawks were only down 30-21 with less than three minutes remaining in the period.   But then the Lakers got hot with three pointers of their own and at the end of the first half it was Lakers 45, Jayhawks 23.  The third period saw the Lakers half court press defense fluster the Jayhawks, and the Lakers quickly turned Jayhawk turnovers into points.  The Lakers would outscore the Jayhawks 33-9 in the period and the third period ended with the Lakers holding a commanding 78-32 advantage.  The forth period would have the Jayhawks finding small cracks in the Lakers defense inside the key where #50 Quinn Bankoski (Dunkirk) would shine scoring 10 of the Jayhawks 24 points.  But the damage was already done in the third period and the Lakers would go on to down the Jayhawks 100-56.
