Onslaught of 3-Pointers Leads To Jayhawks Victory

The JCC Jayhawks women's basketball team (4-4) hosted the Panthers of the University of Pitt-Titusville (2-8).  The Panthers took and early 4-0 lead but then the Jayhawks took back with a momentum shift started with a #4 Emilee Sperry (Panama) 3 pointer, which turned out to be one of many on the day, and when the first period ended it was the Jayhawks on top 21-12.  The second period saw the team matching each other seeming point for point but some well-timed 3 pointers for the Jayhawks helped them pull further away with a 46-27 half time lead.  The third period saw the Panthers playing more aggressive on offense but the Jayhawks went to their weapon of choice, the 3 pointer, which was hit 3 times in this period as the Jayhawks continued to roll up the points leading to a 62-45 lead.  The 4th period saw the Panthers close the gap to a 10 points 70-60 lead but the Jayhawks scored 7 unanswered points and the Jayhawks went on to down the Panthers 79-62.
