The JCC Jayhawks women's basketball team (NJCAA Div II, 6-15) hosted the Cougars of Genesee Community College (NJCAA Div II, 6-20). The Jayhawks and Cougars played a close first half with JCC leading by 3 points after the first 10 minutes of play but the next 10 minutes saw the Cougars claw their way back to take a 4 point lead (29-25) at halftime. The second half saw the teams play even until the last 10 minutes where the Jayhawks offense exploded for 21 points. Rebounding and the team shooting nearly 50% from beyond the arc allowed the Jayhawks to rally and down the Cougars 60-57. The Jayhawks were led by #33 Brianne Davis ' (Bemus Point) 16 points (including 3-4 from 3-point land), 7 rebounds, and 3 assists; #4 Bianca Brown 's (Niagara Falls) 14 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 assists; #30 Natalie Houle 's (Sherman) 14 points and 3 rebounds; #32 Alisha Szumigala 's (Forestville) 6 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists; and #43 Kelsey Johnson 's (Panama) 5 points and 6 rebounds.
