Jayhawks Dominate GCC in Return to the Pool

JAMESTOWN – In their return to the pool in three years, the Jamestown Community College men's swimming & diving team dominated Genesee Community College, 82-44 in a virtual meet.

 

The Jayhawks (1-0, 1-0 WNYAC) set a new pool record during the meet as freshman Eathan Johnson (Panama, NY/Panama Central) posted a time of 1:13.00 in the 100 yard IM.

 

Freshman Elliot Johnson (Panama, NY/Panama Central) had a strong showing in his collegiate debut, edging out Teddy Herrmann of GCC in the 50 yard freestyle, posting a time of 25.05. Elliot Johnson also had a dominate performance in the 100 yard freestyle, posting a time of 56.35.

 

Overall, the Jayhawks post first–place finishes in six events including a win in the 200 yard freestyle with Colby Pantall (Jamestown, NY/Maple Grove HS), Matthew Fennell (Fourways Garden, Johannesburg, South Africa/King Edwards VII School), and Ethan and Elliot Johnson which posted a time of 1:48.00.

 

JCC will be back in action next Monday as they take on Erie Community College at 5 p.m.
