Conklin adds three to the Class of 2022

JAMESTOWN – Head Coach Todd Conklin has announced three more signings to help build the men’s and women’s swimming & diving team.

 

The three newest recruits are Jackson Vanstrom, Angus Solomons and Matthew Fennell.

 

Vanstrom will continue his swimming career after one season competing for the Frewsburg Southwestern swimming team.

 

Vanstrom’s specializes in the 100m butterfly where he qualified for the Section VI Class C meet. Vanstrom also helped his team capture the Class C championship for the Trojan Bears. Prior to home meets, Vanstrom showcased his signing talents with his rendition of the National Anthem.

 

Solomons will make his way to JCC from Paarl, South Africa where he attended Paarl Boys High School.

 

Solomons specializes in the breaststroke and individual medley while also competing in free style and butterfly. Not only is Solomons a strong swimmers, he has shown great leadership, being named captain his senior season at Paarl and for his club team. Swimming for his club team, Solomons received the Leadership Award for three-straight seasons while earning a number of other honors.

 

Lastly, Fennell will also being coming over from South Africa, more specifically Fourways Garden, Johannesburg where he attended King Edwards VII School.

 

Fennell was a two-sport athlete at King Edwards VII School, competing in swimming and water polo. As a swimmer, Fennell specializes in the butterfly and breaststroke. Fennell showcased his talents in swimming and was named to the Senior School Swimming Team the past three seasons.

 

The JCC swimming & diving team will make its way back to the pool for the 2020-21 season after a brief hiatus.
