Jayhawks Sunk by Lakers in 2-1 Loss

JAMESTOWN, NY - Opportunities were plentiful for Jamestown Community College's (JCC) men's soccer early, but missed shots turned into frustration and a 2-1 loss for Jamestown to Finger Lakes Community College.

In the early going, David Luque had a pair of prime scoring chances but shot them both just wide of the net.

The sophomore was able to get a two-on-one break with teammate Dominique Malhomme, but JCC's all-time scoring leader wasn't able to finish in the 10th minutes.

The scoreboard stayed empty through half before the Jayhawks broke through on a beautiful shot to the corner from Braidan Govan, who finished the pass from Mohamadu Bah to make it 1-0 JCC.

The lead didn't last long with the Lakers evening things up at the 49th minutes.

That 1-1 game held true to the 74th minute when Finger Lakes was awarded a penalty kick, which they finished to go up 2-1.

Jamestown had a few threats from there but wasn't able to capitalize.

The loss drops Jamestown to 7-7-1 on the season.

The men are back on the pitch for their final home game on Wednesday, October 16th, at 2:00 PM.
