Jayhawks fall to Gannon on the road

ERIE, Pa. – The Jamestown Community College men's soccer team fell to NCAA Division II Gannon University Tuesday afternoon, 3-2, in a lightning shortened match.

 

The Jayhawks (10-4-3, 1-1-1 WNYAC) got their two goals from freshman forward Luuk Wilemsen. Wilemsen got his first goal in the 45th minute off the feed from freshman forward Kean Thomas to end the first half.

 

Wilemsen was able to score his second goal in the 67th minute off a direct kick. The match was called in the 74th minute due to weather.

 

Sophomore goalkeeper Jakob Moore made seven saves in net while freshman goalkeeper Thomas Harrington made two saves on the afternoon.

 

"This was a very good test for our team," said Head Coach Pat Anderson. "This friendly and the one coming up against Roberts Wesleyan are good test before playoffs start next week."

 

JCC will be back in action this Friday, October 25th, as they take on NCAA Division II Roberts Wesleyan at 7 p.m.
