The JCC Jayhawks Men's Soccer Team (0-1) hosted the Goldon Knights JV squad from Gannon University. With a good crowd on hand and perfect weather, the Jayhawks hoped to put on a good performance for their home opener. However, things started out shakey for the Jayhawks as Gannon scored 4 goals in a 15 minute span, including a pair of scores by Alex Shreck in less than 2 minutes as they Goldon Knights took a 4-0 lead into the half. The second half saw the Jayhawks get hot as they scored a goal by #9 Jackson Rybicki (Jamestown), assisted by #7 Tate Reynolds (Salamanca). Rybick scored again on a penalty kick to cut the Goldon Knights lead in half 4-2 but the teams defenses tightened leaving little room for scoring opportunities. The Goldon Knights scored late to put the game out of reach and down the Jayhawks 5-2. The Jayhawk goalkeepers each played a half starting with #8 Jordan Lymberis (Australia) who had 2 saves with #1 Adriano DeRossi (Australia) taking over in the second half and having 2 saves.
