BALDWINSVILLE — Anthony Miller and Dillan LaBarbera both finished inside the top 15 at the NJCAA Region 3 men's golf championship early this week at Timber Banks Country Club and have earned All-Region honors.

Miller carded rounds of 88 and 84 for a 172 total while LaBarbera shot 91 on opening day and 82 in his second round for a 173 final.

"I told them the first day was like a bad test score in school, there is curve. This curve will be you guys fighting to the end and if you shoot in the low 80s you will make the top 15," said Jayhawks coach Dan Vona.

Golfers were forced to endure a pair of rain delays in the beginning of the second day of play, but Nick Mole was able to shoot 96 for the Jayhawks, giving him a two-day total of 191 after an opening 95.

"Nick is someone a golf coach wants on a team, he has the best set of hands when it comes to the short game and this is where you have to learn the game first. He will be a key factor for next year, he has a great attitude and loves the game of golf," said Vona.

Adirondack took home the team title with a 667, while Onondaga Community College shot 684 to take second, as both teams were able to qualify for the NJCAA Golf Championships at Chautauqua Golf Club on June 5-8.

Also qualifying with individual scores was your individual winner, Bob Davenport of Mohawk Valley with a 156, Don Lapp of Tompkins Cortland Community College (158), Nick Schronwang of Hudson Valley Community College (163), Gabe Lafex of Jefferson (167) and Hogan Land of Niagara County Community College (171).
