Jayhawks look to upset No. 11 ECC Wednesday night

JAMESTOWN - After coming up short in their previous game against a ranked opponent, the Jamestown Community College men's basketball team will look to get a win over No. 11 Erie Community College Wednesday evening.

The Jayhawks (7-7) are coming off a heartbreaking 84-80 loss to No. 8 SUNY Sullivan County Community College this past Saturday. In the game, Jordan Thomas led the way on both ends of the court, scoring 25 points while grabbing 11 rebounds (2 offense, 9 defense). Kane Kenyon had a carrer-high 15 points while Donathan Daniels dropped 14 points.

On the season, Jamestown averages 83.1 points per game with Shiek Kourmora leading the way with 16.6 points per game. Thomas is second on the team in scoring, dropping 15.9 points per game. Kyle Butler has done a good job in distributing the ball, averaging 5.3 assists per game.

As a team, the Jayhawks are grabbing 40.1 rebounds per game with Jake Hougan and Thomas grabbing just under seven boards per game. Hougan has also shown his presence in the paint, coming away with 2.1 blocks per game.

Jamestown will face a Kats team that has a season record of 12-3 with their most recent game being a loss to Monroe College this past Monday. ECC fell in a nail bitter, 81-79.

The Kats are averaging 93.5 points per game with Ahamadou Fofana leading the way with 21 points per game. Tavien Kemp is second on the team with 17.6 points scored per game. On the glass, ECC has grabbed 39.7 rebounds per game with Tim Whitehead averaging just under six boards per game.

Tip is set for 7:30 p.m. at the Physical Education Complex.
