Upset on the mind of the Jayhawks tomorrow evening

JAMESTOWN – Looking to get in the win column in conference action, the Jamestown Community College men’s basketball team will face No. 16 Niagara County Community College Wednesday evening.

 

The Jayhawks (7-13, 0-6 WNYAC) are coming off a 98-71 loss against No. 9 Erie Community College this past Saturday afternoon. In the game, Jordan Thomas had a double-double, scoring 25 points and grabbing 12 rebounds (1offense, 11 defense). Kane Kenyon also had a solid game for Jamestown, scoring 12 points.

 

The last time Jamestown faced the Thunderwolves, they in a 90-77 battle. In the game, four Jayhawks found themselves scoring in double figures with Thomas leading the way with 20 points. Sheick Kourmora added 18 points for the Jayhawks. Jake Hougan had 13 points and seven rebounds (2offense, 5 defense) while Donathan Daniels came away with 12 points and nine assists.

 

In conference action, the Jayhawks are scoring 70.5 points per game while shooting 39.5 percent from the floor. Thomas has been lights out for JCC, averaging 21.5 points per game. Kourmora has also been a steady source of offense, scoring 12.8 points per game. On the glass, the Jayhawks are grabbing 33.3 rebounds per game with Thomas leading the way with 7.7 rebounds per contest.

 

Jamestown will face a NCCC team that has posted a season record of 21-4 on the year with a conference record of 5-1. Their last time out, the Thunderwolves defeated Mercyhurst North East by a score of 88-56. In the game, NCCC had all five starters score in double digits with David Petit-Homme leading the way with 29 points.

 

The last time they face the Jayhawks, Pettie-Homme had a game-high 22 points with William Kondrat adding 21 points. Petit-Homme and Kondrat also lead the team with six rebounds, respectively.

 

On the season in conference action, the Thunderwolves have scored 79.2 points per game while shooting 44.6 percent from the floor. Petit-Homme is leading the team with 15.5 points per game with Kondrat adding 13.2 points per game.

 

On the boards, NCCC has grabbed 41.5 rebounds per game. Petit-Homme has been strong on the glass, securing 7.7 rebounds per game.
