Jayhawks look to rebound on the road at No. 14 NCCC

JAMESTOWN – Playing in their third straight game against a ranked opponent, the Jamestown Community College men’s basketball team will take on No. 14 Niagara County Community College Saturday.

 

The Jayhawks (7-8, 0-1 WNYAC) will look to snap a two-game losing streak where they have fallen to No. 8 SUNY Sullivan County Community College and No. 12 Erie Community College. In their last game against ECC, Jamestown lost 107-77 in their first regional game of the year. Jordan Thomas led the way 22 points with Kane Kenyon and Sheick Kourmora adding 15 points each.

 

Jamestown is as an offense is averaging 82.7 points per game while shooting 47.4 percent from the floor. Thomas and Sheick lead the offensive attack, averaging 16 points per contest. On the glass, the Jayahwks are grabbing 39.5 rebounds per game with Thomas and Jake Hougan grabbing six rebounds per game.

 

JCC will face a Thunderwolves team that has a 16-3 record on the season, winners of their last two games. NCCC is coming off a 64-61 thriller with Nigel Scantlebury leading the way with 24 points.

 

NCCC is averaging 79.3 points per game while shooting 44.3 percent from the court. Scantlebury leads the way with 14.2 points per game with William Kondrat adding 13.3 points per game. On the glass, NCCC averages 38.2 rebounds per game with David Petit-Homme leading the way with 6.9 rebounds per game. Kondrat is close behind with 6.6 rebounds per game.

 

Saturday’s game will take place at the main gym at NCCC with a 3 p.m. tip.
