Allen named Men's Basketball Player of the Week

JAMESTOWN - Isaac Allen of Jamestown Community College men's basketball team was named the Region III Player of the Week after an outstanding opening weekend of basketball.

Allen, the Houston, Texas native, scored a combined 61 points during two games at the WNYAC/MSAC Crossover Classic. Allen scored 18 points in the opening game against SUNY Broome as the Jayhawks won 71-68.

On the second day of the classic, Allen was able to score 43 points, going 19-of-21 from the free throw line. Allen helped the Jayhawks erase a 31 point deficit but the comeback fell short, falling to Corning Community College 86-80.

On the weekend, Allen went 18-for-30 from the field and went 23-for-27 from the charity stripe.

This is Allen's first Player of the Week honor of the year.
