Jayhawks fall to No. 14 NCCC on the road

SANBORN – Playing against their third ranked team in as many games, the Jamestown Community College men's basketball team fell to No. 14 Niagara County Community College Saturday afternoon, 90-77.

 

The Jayhawks (7-9, 0-2 WNYAC) were led offensively by Jordan Thomas with 20 points while Sheick Kourmora added 18 points. Jake Hougan had a strong game for Jamestown, scoring 13 points while grabbing seven rebounds (2 offense, 5 defense). Donathan Daniels had an all-around great game, scoring 12 points, grabbing six boards (1 offense, 5 defense) while dishing out nine dimes.

 

For the Thunderwolves, David Petit-Homme led the way with 22 points while William Kondrat had 21 points on the night. Petit-Homme and Kondrat also led the team on the glass, finishing with six rebounds each, respectively.

 

On the floor, Jamestown went 28-for-63 (44.4 percent) while NCCC went 36-for-70 (51.4 percent). The Jayhawks benefited from the free throw line, going 10-for-11 (90.9 percent) while the Thunderwolves went 12-for-17 (70.6 percent) from the line.

 

The Jayhawks will be back in action this Wednesday as they host Mercyhurst North East at 7:30 p.m.
