Tyler Moffe and Mike Bush In The Zone

The JCC Jayhawks men's basketball team (12-6) hosted the Saints of Mercyhurst NE University (3-10).   The Jayhawks fell behind early, finding themselves down 20-12 with 15:30 left to play in the period.  But the Jayhawks offense started to heat up and the Jayhawks took the lead on a #4 Mike Bush 3 point shot at the 12:01 mark.  The teams swapped the lead back and forth until a #12 Tyler Moffe 3 point shot broke the game open which led to a Jayhawk lead of 43-35 with 6:01 left in the period.  The Saints began to march back into the game before another Moffe 3 point shot swung the momentum back to the Jayhawks and the first period would end with the Jayhawks in control 61-45.

The Jayhawks momentum spilled over into the second half where after 5 minutes of play the Jayhawks were dominating 73-54.  Another 3 pointer by Moffe again led to a Jayhawks points explosion as with 10 minutes left to play, the Jayhawks were up 92-65.  The Jayhawks crossed the triple digit mark with 5 minutes left to play but to the Saints credit they continued to attack the basket and match the Jayhawks point for point down the stretch.  However, the Jayhawks offensive points explosions earlier had already done their damage as the Jayhawks downed the Saints 113-88

The Jayhawks were led by #12 Tyler Moffe who had a nearly flawless game shooting 12-15 for 27 points, 3 rebounds, and 4 assists; #4 Mike Bush (Harlem) was also on target hitting 8-9 for 19 points, 4 rebounds, and 7 assists; #10 Derek Ice (Bronx) had 16 points; #32 Brandon Kemp (Brooklyn) had 14 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 assists; #23 Romario Allen had 14 points and 3 rebounds; #34 Jean Toussaint had 9 points, 10 rebounds, and 3 assists; #21 Brandon Banna had 8 points and 6 rebounds; and #20 Tanner Dahl (Westfield) had 4 points and 5 rebounds.
