BUTLER, Pa. — The Jamestown Community College men's basketball team enters the semester break in a good place.

Mike Bush led five players in double figures with 20 points and the Jayhawks rolled to an 88-71 victory over Butler County CC in an NJCAA game Tuesday night.

The victory, its sixth in its last seven games, raised JCC's record to 8-5, which left Coach George Sisson in a good frame of mind.

"It's really starting to come together a little bit," he said. "I'm excited to be where we're at. I think we've gotten better and we're starting to evolve into our strengths a little bit better than we were a month ago."

In addition to Bush's 20 points — he also had five assists — the Jayhawks received 17 points and seven rebounds from Brandon KempJean Toussaint had 11 points, 10 rebounds and three assists, Brendan Banna chipped in 12 points, Dashawn Branch had  seven points and three steals and Tyler Moffe collected 13 points.

"Bush, Derek Ice, Moffe and Branch all had (3-pointers) in the first half," said Sisson, who saw his team open up a 45-33 lead at the break. "We had a really nice rhythm."

The Jayhawks' lead grew to as many as 18 points in the second half.

"We take a break now and come back January 2 and start working," Sisson said.
