Jayhawks Break 100 on Way To First Victory

MONACA, Pa. — After only scoring four points in the final eight minutes of its season-opening loss to Lakeland CC on Wednesday, the Jamestown Community College men's basketball team's offense came to life Friday against the Community College of Beaver County in the Titan Tip-Off Classic.

The Jayhawks jumped out to a 57-33 lead at halftime and cruised to an eventual 104-88 victory, their first of the 2016-17 campaign.

Derek Ice led the way in terms of scoring for Jamestown CC, pouring in 25 points and knocking down three shots from 3-point range. In addition, Tyler Moffe and Jean Toussaint contributed 16 points each in the win while Mike Bush added 15 points and Brandon Kemp had nine.

Tanner Dahl scored seven points as well for Jamestown CC, including two 3-pointers, and Carter Davidson, a Chautauqua Lake Central School graduate, scored six points in his first official collegiate action.

Ice and Toussaint combined to go 14 of 14 from the charity stripe.
