The JCC Jayhawks men's basketball team (NJCAA Div II, 19-5) hosted the Cougars of Genesee Community College (NJCAA Div II, 18-9). The Jayhawks took the lead early in the contest and the Cougars would spend the rest of the game tying to catchup, but the Cougars kept the contest within reach for most of the game including leaving the Jayhawks with a slim 5 point lead (48-43) going into halftime. The second half saw the Jayhawks offense continue to dictate the pace of the game. That, along with the team shooting nearly 90% from the free throw line and committing a minimal of turnovers, made the difference as the Jayhawks downed the Cougars 100-85 The Jayhawks were led by #22 Samuel Joseph 's (Brooklyn) 27 points (including 5-10 from 3-point land) and 6 rebounds; #21 Kyle Taylor-Mcleggan 's (Harlem) 25 points (including 10-11 from the free throw line), 3 rebounds, and 3 assists; #24 Rakim Lesane 's (Coney Island)18 points; #32 Brandon Kemp 's (Brooklyn) double double of 12 points and 10 rebounds; and #4 Michael Bush 's (Harlem) 11 points, 5 assists, and 3 rebounds.
