The JCC Jayhawks (NJCAA Div II, 12-2) hosted the Jim Riggs Post Journal Classic basketball tournament and their second opponent was the Express of Owens Community College (NJCAA Div II, 5-8). The Jayhawks and Express' offenses both were clicking early but the Jayhawks offense unleashed a series of long, deep 3 pointers that gave them a sizable advantage at the end of the first half 53-37. The second half saw an onslaught of points from both teams with the Express outscoring the Jayhawks 54-51 but the Jayhawks shot 3 pointers at a rate of 50% (18 in all) and those long shots continued to make the difference on their way to downing the Express 104-91. The Jayhawks were led by #22 Samuel Joseph 's (Brooklyn) 26 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 assists; #21 Kyle Taylor-Mcleggan 's (Harlem) 20 points (including 5-6 from beyond the arc); #24 Rakim Lesane 's (Coney Island) 18 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists; #4 Michael Bush's (Harlem) 16 points (including an amazing 4-5 from 3 point land) and 5 assists; and #23 Ryan Chung 's (Queens) 15 points.
