The JCC Jayhawks (NJCAA Div II, 11-2) hosted the Jim Riggs Post Journal Classic basketball tournament and their first opponent was the Wolfpack of Westmoreland County Community College (NJCAA Div II, 4-7). The Jayhawks dominated the Wolfpack in the first half, nearly doubling the Wolfpack's offensive production taking a 60-36 lead into the half. While the Wolfpack played stronger in the second half, the Jayhawks did not waiver and with the help of strong rebounding and shooting over 42% from beyond the arc, the Jayhawks downed the Wolfpack 114-81. The Jayhawks were led by #24 Rakim Lesane 's (Coney Island) double double of 32 points, 12 rebounds, 4 blocks, and 3 assists; #22 Samuel Joseph 's (Brooklyn) 19 points, 6 rebounds, 3 steals, and 3 blocks; #21 Kyle Taylor-Mcleggan 's (Harlem) 15 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists; #4 Michael Bush 's (Harlem) 12 points, 3 assists, and 3 steals; and #32 Brandon Kemp 's (Brooklyn) 12 points and 8 rebounds.
