The Jamestown Community College Jayhawks men's basketball team (NJCAA Div. II, 14-9) hosted the Cougars of Genesee Community College (NJCAA, Div II, 18-8). The Cougars and Jayhawks were well matched with the Cougars having the advantage 35-30 at the end of the first half. The second half saw both offenses gain momentum with both teams answering point for point, leaving the 5 point half time lead as the biggest difference maker as the Jayhawks narrowly were defeated 75-73. The Jayhawks were led by #4 Chris Van Buren's (Brooklyn) 29 points and 8 rebounds; #34 Ohndo Smith's (Manhattan) double double of 28 points and 14 rebounds; #20 Jaleel Gary's (Bronx) 5 points and 3 rebounds; #33 Kamal Nelson's (Brooklyn) 4 points; 8 rebounds, and 5 assists; #10 Kasean Jackson's (Brooklyn) 4 points; and #21 Dimitri Jarrett's (Brooklyn) 8 rebounds.
